Alberta Life - An Online Art Exhibition

* Story and Inspiration Behind the Exhibition *

There are 14 prints to choose from in this exhibition. Curating them was not an easy task for me but I carefully chose them to reflect the diversity of Alberta as much as possible. I apologize if I left anything out but once again, Alberta is a very diverse province and showcasing her in 14 images is not easy. :) But what I do present to you is a collection I am very proud of and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did photographing them.

If you choose to purchase prints, and I thank you in advance, I will be donating 20% of your purchase to the Food Banks Alberta Association.

Q: Why am I doing this?

A: Communities are the backbone of our society. My main occupation is a pharmacist and I have worked within communities for over 20 years so I understand and see firsthand the issues our communities face. I have seen communities struggle even more as of recently due to Covid 19. Jobs were lost. People are being burdened with more difficulties including hunger, financial stress, anxiety, depression, the list goes on. Seeing all of these struggles compelled me to do something to help the communities we live in. Communities have supported me and my family as a pharmacist and as an artist for many many years so naturally I want to help the communities back. But, I wanted to do something that could potentially make a real difference.

Q: Why did I choose the Food Banks Alberta Association?

A: The Food Banks provide more than just Food.  Many of them refer clients to income and other support services and many of them also offer training, education and help with finding employment. In addition, 89,821 people visited the Food Banks last year AND 35,282 were children. Covid-19 has not helped the situation as well, many of them have already been experiencing increases due to the downturn in economy and they can only expect the number to increase as we see the effects of COVID 19 in the months to come. And, I can only imagine the increase in demand in Fort McMurray being compounded with the recent floods.

* Print details *

These prints are special editions and they are professionally printed on heavy weight Baryta fine art paper. The colors and contrast are extra rich on this medium, and I completely and absolutely fell even more in love with my prints when I picked up my proofs. When you see your prints, I guarantee you will absolutely fall in love with them too! "Gorgeous" and "Beautiful" are words that I modestly use to describe them.

* Framing *

Framing for them is simple. For example, Michaels does offer an off the shelf frame for this print size. But if you do want custom framing then please reach out to me and I can provide you a quote from my suppliers.

The print is 22"x16". More precisely the picture is 18"x12" and the paper is 22"x16". The white borders around the image give the print a sense of "matting".

* Additional Details *

Everybody's computer monitor is different, therefore due to individual computer screen calibration the color, brightness and sharpness on your print may not look exactly like what you see on your computer screen. My monitor is calibrated with my photo lab which means your print will turn out as I had artistically intended.
