Parked in Bents
* Story Behind the Image *
Wooden grain elevators are part of the heritage of living on the prairies. In Alberta, Canada, these prairie sentinels are vanishing which is sad because they connect me to my childhood and memories of growing up on the Canadian prairies. Since I used to love trains as well, this series of images actually started off as a personal project. I was moved when my customers started to connect with these images too......
The isolation of Bents, the long blowing grass and the weathered and abandoned grain elevator inspired me to photograph this image. The heritage themes in this collection are particularly prominent in this image.
